The biggest manta ray on record was 7.6m in width. That's rediculously big.

Great video, where in the maldives was this and at what time of year? We have been a few times and haven't had this experience yet!

It was filmed in October, very close to Male, on a spot called for obvious reasons "manta point" close to Lankan Island. Seems we were very lucky as the mantas were mating then (An it was our first dive on our trip to Maldives!)

yes, they are awesome...and underwater goggles make you see everything a 30% bigger, so when you are there you just can stare an think "whoaaaaaa", LOL.
