Thank you for posting this early show with great sound quality. Really interesting to hear this version of Fall On Me - one of the few times that they changed the song quite a bit before putting it on the album.

I've been a huge fan of REM since high school back in the early '80s, when I was one of the first among my group of friends to know about them. I've continued to be a fan all these years. This is a fascinating recording. As an aside, I hate to hear the anti-American sentiment expressed. Seems like they thought it wasn't cool to be from The States, despite the nice round of applause from the English crowd. I'd like to think they've grown over the years. They sound like nervous kids here.

I have also been a big fan since the early 80's. This is one of my favorite R.E.M. shows. I also don't like that comment but I definetly think now they'd never say something like that. I agree with you, it does seem like they'r e just nervous kids. They are also very talanted nervous kids! Thanks for the comment.

I'm glad you like it. I'm pretty sure this was the only soundboard recording from 85 on you tube before this. Yes, it is true this is one of the very few songs that changed alot before getting put on record. Fall On Me is a great song both versions.

Thanks ! It's very interesting to listen to early records REM and to observe as their style and a manner of execution varied. I envy those who was at their live concerts in those days.
