New research shows not to use dots. Also you need to show the starting point and you start from the top instead of the bottom up. I have never seen anyone write an "a" as shown in this video. I'm not saying this is a bad video I'm just saying there are more things out there to help you with handwriting for children. Of course any parent doing anything is most appreciated by teachers.
