The rain fell all day but the bikes rolled on in Copenhagen. This stretch is medium-sized in that it only features about 10,000 bikes per day on the segregated bike lanes.
@markstos I know your comment is 3 years old but most workplaces in Denmark are required by law to have x amount of bathrooms/ showers and lockers pr. worker. So i you sweat a lot you can shower before you start work, which saves you money.and the showerrooms often have hangers for wet/damp clothes. My husband partly bikes to work . he does that in sweats then showers and put on his suit.
Maybe there's no problem when arriving damp at work or public. Bikes was already a part of their culture. So during rainy or snowy season it is already expected that you will get wet or damp when you commute with bikes. But it is best when you are prepared with some waterproof jacket and fell at east when arriving for work. I just found a tips regarding this from MyDenmarkTV about biking during snowy season.
Thanks for posting this. It's important to see examples of bike culture continuing when the rain starts to fall.
I would have been interested in more close-ups of what people were wearing, and how wet they were actually getting...how many had waterproof gear vs. street clothes.
I also expect there is more acceptance for arriving damp at work or public places.
