Digital readers are becoming more common with both faculty and students using them for personal reading. It is an obvious choice that we look to see if course material already in e-book format can be easily converted for successful teaching and learning. Users of digital readers cite the convenience, portability, and large storage capacity as compelling reasons for their use in courses. With a Kindle DX, one can easily carry a year's worth or more of course readings in a lightweight device, can search for content, and can annotate, bookmark, or highlight readings. Pace is excited to be part of this pilot which will help forecast the future use of the digital reader in higher education.

Using a laptop/netbook would be better for studying and taking notes. The only thing ebook readers have over laptops is being able to read fiction novels in a comfortable place for hours (which is what I do with my prs-300).
