A couple months ago I saw Maya Angelou in person at an event - An Evening Conversation with Maya Angelou, and she mentions this skit... I had to see it and I am glad I finally looked it up. It was very powerful. She said when she arrived at rehearsal she got the sidelong looks from everyone but when she delivered her soliloquy the first time in rehearsal there wasn't a dry eye in the place. Very powerful indeed.

@sahja324 Richard was very careful to put only positive stuff on his 4 shows. Maya, really drives the plight of the "drunk" home. Touching indeed!!
