This segment starts out with Sarah Klein interviewing Jim Duzlo of WDET and the Frog Island Festival about what live music gives to people and why its important. Followed up by The Howling Diablos at the Blind Pig the night that John Sinclair kicked it off with them. There will be another segment with their rendition of "Cannabis Cup", actually probably two segments its about 20 minutes long ~ and doesn't need to be cut in any way.

Lonnie Jordan of WAR talks about how we are all sharing the same conversations on and off the stage. Which if artist are listening they we will hold a mirror up to us so we can see life or our hopes reflecting back in on us.

"When A Soldier Makes it Home" was sung for this segment back in 2000 all the references are to the Soviet Union fighting in the Middle East. Just as in 1954 the French declare Vietnam independent with nine other nations at a Geneva Convention, the Soviet Union left Afghanistan in 1992 after fight there for 14 years. Help is only help if people involved share a common idea of the help needed with a desire to see a commonly agreed upon ends or goal.

This song by Arlo has a vision so clear that it was as if he hand everyone at Hookahville looking into a crystal ball and said "This is coming wake up now!" That was Memorial Day Weekend 2000.

Rounding this piece out is Keller Williams doing "In A Big Country" and an interview by the ever intelligent & beautiful Sarah Klein a wonderful journalist and columnist. She is talking to George Klein an NPR Jazz Dj on WDET and her father at The Frog Island Music Festival.

  • Anyways, Yeah that song, is Great. There is another song ive been searching for as I know of the guy who wrote it, i heard it from this band called 3penny acre . one of the band members sang it, really blew my mind. The words were , send a brother over to a Foreign land , tell him to kill without reprimand , sitting on that military governmental contract. Anyways, thats for the reply, add as friend if ya want. Peace!

  • I really like it, want a copy of it for myself. I have a dream to put Keller, Jack black, and Bo Burnham all on one stage.

  • This was fabulous! I'd completely forgotten about this. Thanks for sharing this wonderful father-daughter moment to the world!
