Americans like these two, (or Dick Van Dyke), don't understand that there can be no such thing as an upper class Cockney accent. They pick and mix from any non-American accent and simply throw it all together, which if reversed would be the equivalent of someone thinking a Yonkers-Texan-Locust Valley Lockjaw-San Franciscan hybrid would sound "American". We see so many US films/TV series we're much better at their accents than they are at ours. Still, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
