LCD TV Repair (LG tv) Part 1

This tv wouldn't start up. I replaced the caps on the power board. The video is done with a Droid 2 Global

i have a sharp aquos lc tv with the same problem...no video when i turn it on and the power light stays on not blink tho....should i repair the caps on the board??

@lioncarolinablue123 It should only take a few minutes to take off the back of the tv and take a look at the power board to see if the caps are bad. I would be willing to bet that this was the issue

My Westinghouse LTV-32w6HD has sound and no pic. I see no sign of any cap damage. A repairman said it is the logic board. Is the main board and logic board the same thing?

@Ncharlestun kinda sorta, there are a lot of boards in the tv itself and most of them are called "logic" board but you have a logic or b logic ect. It may be the Y-usus board.

You can't always know if caps are bad by looking at them. You either need to use an LCR or ESR meter. (LCR will require you to unsolder. ESR does not require it.) If they look bad, they are bad. If they look good, they might be bad.

Use a little flux to help the solder flow.

I have got the same tv .but myn is going red .but you can still see watch the tv .i had the tv a part. It all looks good .thers nufing like yours wer ther poping up .con you help me
