Tournament in Memory of Eddie Aikau
The tournament in memory of Eddie Aikau captures the heart of one of the true legends of the surf and recounts the story of his life and death in a way that can not easily forget.
The most recent tournament was in December 2004, when waves in the bay reached 30 to 50 feet (15 m) high.
The Hokule'a left the Hawaiian islands on March 16, 1978. The double-hulled voyaging canoe developed a leak in one of the hulls and later capsized about twelve miles (19 km) south of the island of Molokai. In an attempt to get help, Eddie Aikau made a decision that costed his life, Eddie Aikau paddled toward Lanai on his surfboard. Although the rest of the crew was later rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Eddie Aikau was never seen again
Eddie Aikau , he gave his own life while trying to save the lives of their friends.
This is Awesome !!! Eddie Aikau and the sacrifice, he made. He understood what being a true friend, give your life for the good of others.
It is no surprise when they retell the story of Eddie Aikau and our hearts are touched with respect.
There is a story in the pages of the Bible, about Jesus, who gave his life for everyone, even by those who do not know.
In Romans 5: 6-8 is written:
*6-You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
*7-Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
*8-But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
"Eddie Would Go" , is written on the stickers and shirts.
But in the bible you will read that "JESUS WENT."
he went all the way up to the Cross for you.
