Greetings from the Netherlands, i grew up in our local biblebelt and was the only non-believer in my class at a religous school so i can sympatize, US must be infinitely worse.

What an accurate word for conveying the assumed elevated & eternally privileged position of the believer!

While believing in religion doesn't produce monetary benefits, believers nevertheless feel empowered by the perceived advantages afforded them through their relationship with the divine.

As the word holy denotes deity, Holysinecure is a phrase describing a religious figurehead position with ultimately valueless benefits.

Hmm, so 'sinecure' is like 'a secular church', just 'the social functions' not the religious?

A sinecure is a figurehead position that has no value or authority (but still gets paid) usually within a religious organization.

In my mind, from a secular perspective, I visualize a good paying job with a good title that has no responsibilities and no authority.

that is sad about your daughter..I know what that is like, being treated wrongly because someone disagrees with you. not cool, and unfortunately part of this existence, for now.

take the recent flu scare..some of us actually research this shit and refuse to take the shot but those that treat science as their god won't leave it alone. well I'm sorry my common sense is my business..bugger off fuckheads. LOL

Heya, been very interested in your videos that I was also introduced to via FFreethinker. Just subbed, and keep up the good work!

On the bright side for your daughter's situation in her class, her teacher did stop the mistreatment of her, at least in that instance. I never let that thing go on when I was student teaching, regardless of what groups the harassers or harassees are in, even if the harassee's views differ from my own. Teachers should do it for professionalism, if not to be kind.
