I dont have anything against helping the poor, but it doesn't help matters when we hear reports of TANF recipients using their funds on cruise ships and in casinos. I'm wondering how in the world does somebody that qualifies for TANF benefits can even afford to take a cruise? How can somebody receiving TANF benefits in St. Louis or Chicago, even afford to run off to Vegas or Atlantic City and live it up on TANF funds? This kind of B.S. casts doubt on the effectiveness of programs for the poor.

I notice that all these people who defend the poor never talk about why they themselves are no longer poor. Tavis had a very rough life and look at him today. I agree that the poor do get blamed for alot of things, however so many of their decisions keep them poor.

We had 2 march & many died so we could have the LITTLE freedom black people do have..We may not be in technical bondage but they always find a way to keep us there! I am a strong believer in helping ppl get out their own way & helping them move forward... Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually. {people of all races have marched btw}

@HNK222 And btw....I dont have a problem with West. I never have. I never liked Smiley...He is an arrogant man! My point is, don't use Obama as your target b/c he is a black man. You want something done for the black people, get off that damn bus and do something! If your going to spend all that damn money fueling that bus to travel, save the money and give it to the poor!
