Obviously you guys have not or can not fly at night. I don't think the point of this was to get the exact scale lighting correct. He is doing it so he figure out the orientation of his heli at night.
Personally brother, you can never have too many lights. I think you have a great start.

If you're using LED technology, use it as the original ......

Doesn't that affect your battery life? I would just get the night main and tail blades. Looks pretty cool though.

All LEDs + resistors together need 0.4 ampere of the 6 volt line. Compared with the motor which can take up to 35 ampere max from the 12 volt line, the power consumption is not much.
The helicopter becomes a little bit heavier because of the extra wires and extra ferrite ring.

Too many lights....take two off the tail, and get your colour co-ordination right, otherwise...great job! :)

I agree that the lights on the vertical stabilizer fin are a bit useless.
The other lights help a lot during twilight and clouds, during sunny days my new yellow canopy is bright enough to orientate.
In a couple of weeks I'll put up a nice flying movie, a co-worker offered to film with his new high-fps hd camera. I'm looking forward for the 60 fps slo-motion replay of heli flight :-)
