Rome Neal's BANANA PUDDIN' JAZZ presents a tribute to cultural arts promoter/activist, Mr. Cedric Rose. He has been diligent in giving a platform to many artists in the music, theater and dance industries. He also orchestrated and managed to re-enliven jazz music history with having a photo shoot of everyone currently in jazz in front of Mintons Playhouse, as it was historically done during the Harlem Renaissance.
There will be performers at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe on September 8, 2010 6pm-8:30 pm. They are: Ebony JoAnn, Cynthia Scott, Antoinette Montague , Annette St. John, Aziza Miller, Marva Allen, Back Alley Players, Onaje Allan Gumbs, Chip Shelton, Charisa Dowe, Scout, Stanley Banks, Eric Frazier, Christopher Dean Sullivan, Steve Kroon, Marcus Persiani, Ron Ferrell, Monique Ndigo Washington, Clay Herndon, and Carol Sudhalter
Remember Their Innocence By Onaje Allan Gumbs is the opening scored music and Phullis Hyman singing Betcha By Golly Wow arranged by Mr. Gumbs.
The Jazz community takes the time to come together and celebrate one of our unsung heroes of Jazz & the Arts
