  • Thanks for doing this..I'm in process of rebuilding my OB-Xa, thinking of ordering some bushings from you.

Where can I get that spring installation tool? Do you sell this?

  • While I do this differently and use an original Pratt-Read adjustment tool, may I suggest putting all of the sharp keys back on first?

It'll make things go a lot quicker.

If keys bind- remove the lube- originals were not lubed and often the lube itself causes binding and can cause bushings to swell.

  • Thanks so much, extremely helpful!

  • Does anyone know what silicone product are the bushings coated in?

  • Awesome tutorial. Thanks for sharing all this knowledge. Even though I do not have Prophet V, I do am looking for any info regarding synth repairs. Would like to do it professionally, but don't know where to get the knowledge from. Have done 17 years of professional piano repair stuff (piano tuning. rebuilding and restoration), but would like to jump into the synth repair field. Anyway, thanks a lot for this great video.

  • I'm working on my P5 now.

Some of my sharp key combs were way up higher than the rest.

When I straightened them out, some of the sharp keys were up too high.

Discovered that the plastic sleeve that goes over the metal frame of the key, was above the ridge and not under, as it should.

Guess where this P5 came from?

    Wine Country.

I have the certificate to prove it.

Other than that, do yourselves a favour, take it to a pro, because it's a real bastard of a job. Especially those effin springs.

  • Excellent tutorial ... well done! This is a great help for working on these vintage keyboards.
