  • I Got A Way Cheaper Studio. It Sounds Good.

  • @PrettyPisces98 Where can we hear something you've done? And what do you have in your studio? People love hearing cheap alternatives!

  • What exactly are the monitors used for? I still haven't really found them necessary

  • @iAmRyet The purpose of monitors is to give you a high quality, yet FLAT response to mix on. That way when you take your mix out to your car, or play it through your stereo you get a similar sound.

Consumer level speakers are heavily colored and NOT good for mixing. Most consumer speakers are "bass heavy" so if you mix on them and then take it to another sound source you will find that there is a LACK of bass in the mix. Monitors are an essential part of any recording studio.

  • Hey Lewin, can the Samson CO1U be placed in front of a high gain, tube amplifier (for electric guitar) and get a semi decent quality sound, at least for demo recordings? Thanks heaps! :D

  • @VampolkaXL HIgh gain yes, high volume... I'd be careful, but yes you could use it for that. Keep it a little farther away than a SM57 and keep the master volume on the amp at a decent level.
