A great tutorial from EmcFraktal showing how to achieve complex sounding quick edits in Ableton using the Legato feature. This method is used by artists such as Deadmau5, Madeon, Skrillex and many French House, complextro producers!

  • he uses ableton for his live shows, but he uses FL Studio to produce, either way it might clear things up a little if you specify that this is for live use?

  • I can't see where you are coming from. Legato mode is not limited to live use and this video is not all about Madeon... so why should i bother specifying when and when not he uses legato?

  • I produce, and i sit there and cut up and create each and every individual synth sound.

  • So do most people...this is just a very cool alternative.

  • Great tutorial, to the point, a make music now, and stop talking about the way you make it, at the end, the final product is what matters... if you make your sounds from scratch, good for you if, you use this technique good for you too. Thanks for the great tut.. Gusto

  • man i love you

  • So all of those clips use the sames drums, and the drums are already in them?

  • i cut my stuff up too, but i also use this. sometimes it comes up with cooler things than i could.

  • Guys, why are you even arguing about this? DAW doesn't matter, it's all about the end result. In my opinion one daw is not better than another, they just have similar functions and in one DAW it's more advanced or useful than in the other. Just get what fits to your needs and have fun.

  • lol.this is so bad sounding.but he seems to know alot about this program.thats kewl.i kinda wish all billions of these tutorials would stop showing up in my home page if they're not showing nothing

  • Great!!! Thanks!!!

  • Many thanks for this tutorial! Great stuff

  • Your right he does use ableton but I think only so he can use his novation launchpad. Produces in FL Studio. Although he might do everything in ableton now since deadmau5 signed him.
