my class is riot shield desert egels and perks are scavenger,blast sheld,stedy aim

a good thing to do with the riot shield is if you have a little clay you can put a little dot of clay on your tv screen where the cross airs normally are so that when you throw your throwing knife you know where you throwing it. another good thing to use is c4 but that is not as fast as the throwing knife.

The riot shield is pretty tricky, I used to love it, until I realized how much harder it is to use on MW3, but not impossible.
The knife is great with the shield.. perks for me are Scavenger, as you said, Hardline and Assassin.
Its a bit easier to use on Hardcore:Ricochet. Since it only takes one well placed shield smash and not two.

Perk 1: Extreme Conditioning (if you're being offensive) Perk 2: Blast Shield (Pro has stun/flash resistance), Perk 3: Stalker (ppl try planting claymores & bettys). Knife is a must obv.

@timppaduu well to be honest its just an stupid trick for easy kills because of the aim assist. if you got another opinion i'm fine with it
