  • To think that playing such as this took a back seat to the lifeless, dull, pedantic readings of Haochen Zhang in the Cliburn Competition...Should be a reassurance to us that fame and recognition are no measure of worth.

  • This is a true talent in a making of a wonderful performer. Rare indeed. Isn't he about the same age as Lapshin, but what a difference? Absorbed in music and not in himself. A true musician.

  • @Sporadicmystic We all know they gave first prize to the kids who would sell the most tickets to morons. *One is blind and one is a prodigy!" It was a joke. Good job, America.

  • Transcritions never sound like transcriptions in this gifted performer's hands. The special sound he gives each phrase, each note in it, every LH 'seeming' accompaniment, dispense their own Bozhian charm. I do believe he could make a rusted, out of tune Upright sound 'royal'.

  • Unfortunately not. But there's no doubt he was the best on the 3rd stage od the Chopin Competition.

  • He will be the greatest. Fame and recognition will soon find the place, at the end of this month.
