Angela Davis was asked by a SUSPECT member to comment on Judith Butler's refusal to accept the the Civil Courage Prize on the Berlin CSD June 19th 2010. (Q & A after the screening of „Angela Davis: Portrait of a Revolutionary" in Berlin, June 20th 2010. The part of the german translator was not taped, thus the pauses and cuts.)
Bravo Angela! Thanks for the great speech! I hope that I'll have ever the opportunity to meet you in person.
Danke - Thank you einsTP for uploading Angela's speech!
I felt happy after I read about Judith Butler's refusal of the award . Hopefully the so called LGBT community starts a political debate about "the politics of pride" and reminds that the LGBT history was ones a political movement!
