are tactical teams that protect the citizens around the world modern day ninjas? Do you think SWAT teams, Navy Seals, SAS are modern day ninjas? I have had the opportunity in my martial arts path to work with tactical teams and not only have I taught them some things they have taught me many things. I can see the similarities in Ninjutsu of the past and other traditional martial arts and how the techniques have been tweaked for today's world. Of course Ninjutsu is still practiced in schools and traditional arts are still practiced but it is my belief that tactical teams use the skillsets from the arts such as tactical planning before their attack, counter surveillance, stealth movement, weapon use , hand to hand combat, distractionary devices etc to enhance their abilities and the success of the mission. Very much like the olden days and ninjas of the past. Disclaimer-This video is for entertainment purposes only. • Im not sure exactly what you call a ninja but as far as im concerned, Hatsumi Sensei is the only ninja in this day and age. I consider Tactical Force Teams to be more of just that, specially trained groups of soldiers who are sent for a mission above the normal for regular troops.

  • @jdbeaver91 That is why I made this video and put the title as a question I wanted everyone's answer. So I appreciate your answer. You got your point across and it was a good post. I too respect Hatsumi Sensei very much.

  • Sorry for the typo's and I didn't mean to offend anyone when I said that I don't think there are Ninja today. Hatsumi sensei has been referred to the last living Ninja and eve if his knowledge is what was used by the Ninja in Iga centuries ago I think of a Ninja as a role that was in feudal Japan and one may study Ninjutsu an the techniques of the Ninja but that does not make one a Ninja. I have great respect for Hatsumi sensei, and the Bujinkan and all martial arts or systems. *REI*

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie sorry all didn't read before I hit post..that should be things and not thinks, influence not influenced

  • Didn't catch my typo....that should be AREN'T modern day ninja...

  • Sorry about such a long comment..darn character restricting. Just wanted to explain my opinion on the matter. As always Rick..great video and I like these topic video's along side of the martial art instruction videos. Just how I look at that topic..right or wrong ;D.

  • Part 5: In that case even that what's Ninja primary did, blend in, get intel get out sight unseen and report back on what they found out I don't think the infantry unit is a modern group of ninja. They are simply doing performing a role in a possible theatre of war. Even if they are doing similar roles to ninja these techniques ave come down from centuries of military training and even hunting. So it's an interesting topic I just class Ninja as Ninja and the teams of today as what they are :D.
