I was in the French Quarter and managed to get these Aggie fans (students?, band?) on film. They are singing the Aggie War Hymn. (That's Texas A&M for those who haven't caught up yet). Anyway, they were so loud and spirited that they were stopping both foot and car traffic in the French Quarter of New Orleans during Mardi Gras. I feel lucky to have seen this. Here are the lyrics to the song they were singing:

Goodbye to texas university,
so long to the orange and the white.
Good luck to the dear old Texas Aggies,
they are the ones who show the real old fight.
"The eyes of Texas are upon you,"
that is the song they sing so well (sounds like hell).
So goodbye to texas university,
we're gonna beat you all to
Chig-a-roo-garem, Chig-a-roo-garem,
Rough tough real stuff Texas A&M.

[Chorus]

Saw varsity's horns off, saw varsity's horns off.
Saw varsity's horns off, SHORT! Ay!
Varsity's horns are sawed off, varsity's horns are sawed off.
Varsity's horns are sawed off, SHORT! Ayyyyyyyy!

  • lol, gay. Like anyone in New Orleans cares about the Texas A&M fight song. Save that crap for the football games you loose.

  • @h00ked I looked around for LSU, Ole Miss and even Texas fans and they didn't have sh*t on this crew. Sorry.

  • Ive seen this video a few times already, just havnt commented. But ya, this brings back memories, I was there in the crowd singing the Aggie War Hymn as a part of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Fish Drill Team National Championship Class of 2011!!! Whoop!!!! Thanks for posting this, it let me relive that moment, it was a pretty awesome experience for us all.

  • @chucklebob89 It was cool to see. I'm not even an A&M fan, but this was quite the display.

  • you've never seen this kind of spirit in the sec? some douche aggie wrote this, or theyve never been to Baton Rouge

  • @dftitans "Douche Aggie". Nice. Typical LSU fan.

Thankfully Baton Rouge keeps its garbage within their city limits during Mardi Gras.

  • @dftitans Never happened. Sorry.

  • @aggiewhoop14

    Nope, they have it right.

  • Why were they singing about the University of Texas when they weren't playing the University of Texas? Do they always sing about the University of Texas or do they change up the words when they play other teams?

  • It's called JPs son lol

  • If you join the Corps of Cadets, you'll get in-state tuition. And if you're enlisted right now, we have two units with-in the Corps specifically for folks like you. Delta Company (for combat Vets), and Company V-1 (for any prior service or married cadets). There are some folks that are combat vets that join regular units as well. Let me know if you have questions.
