Its ridiculous that you have come at me this way because I found that the 636 lb-ft of torque that this 434 produces on pump gas, to be stellar. In case you were wondering, thats a shitload of torque for that displacement. Anyone can make huge hp, huge torque is another story. Why don't you look up the definition of illiterate.

torque has nothing to do with compression ratio. I think you learned what little you know from hot rod magazines. 90 year old oil field engines have incredible torque but compression ratios of 6:1 or 7:1, you have a simplified uneducated lack of understanding of stoichiometry and thermodynamics. octane is only part of the solution to detonation, timing and temperature are as important. your writing is near illiterate. you are uneducated.

@aminimaleffort Whats so confusing about what I said? The compression ratio of an engine has everything to do with torque. The more you squeeze the air going into the engine, the more energy the engine will be able to extract from it. All at the expense of the type of fuel that will be used. More comp requires more octane to prevent detonation. I just made a relative guess on 12:1 It has to be at least that high to make that kind of torque. Superb engineering and tuning give this kind of output.
