http://MadridMan.com Presents: Stirring of the "Queimada" at Taberna Maceiras on Calle de las Huertas, 66, in Madrid Spain. Recorded on the evening of 2 February 2011. A "Queimada" is a Galician liqueur with "Orujo", apple pieces, and coffee beans. It's served - flaming - in terra cotta cups. Here, they charge 3 Euros per cup and is VERY strong but tasty. Taberna Maceiras is very popular for its Galician seafood such as octopus ("pulpo"), razor clams ("navajas"), and clams (almejas) to name only a few. Here, the Galician food is good, relatively cheap, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Tables are low, square, and wooden and the wooden stools have no seat backs. The bread is great as is the Ribeiro and Albariñó white wines, both from Galicia.
