Fire in the bar at the Britannia Hotel. The fire brigade turned up but the fire was already out. When the alarms went off the management said it was a false alarm and so guests stayed in their room. Britannia Hotel needs to get its act in order.

  • i work at this hotel and can confirm all guests were evacuated from their rooms and the fire was an electrical fire in a glass room which was small and well contained

  • @AlannaBud90 come on it was total chaos. The alarm sounded for 30 minutes. When guests called the reception we were told it was a false alarm and to stay in our rooms - for 30 minutes!!! Eventually guests saw firemen through the windows and went to reception with the management still insisting it was a false alarm. Nobody took the lead and it was a disaster waiting to happen. The management were woeful in their response. My colleague complained to your head office and got no reply. Disgraceful.
