Nobody Knew by Carmine Appice with Brian May on guitar. Released as a single in 1995 but was withdrawn for legal reasons. It was later officially released on the reissue for the album 'Ultimate Guitar Zeus' in 2006. Written by Kelly Keeling and Carmine Appice.

Lyrics:

Here we are
In the year 2000
Looking through glass
With oxygen masks

Here we are
With faces around us
Expressions unnoticed
They thought it would last

Nobody knew
Where they were heading
Except for the few who
Made it all clear

Nobody knew
Who's running the white house
It's painted all black now
You'd think they would mind

Now we know
The stained glass houses
The motors are gas
It's all come to pass

All we ever wanted
Was clear cool water
To wash off the stains
Keep oceans alive

What destination (here we are, the year 2000)
I play the game (looking through glass)
Lord take me now (with oxygen masks)
It's not the same (here we are, with faces around us, emotions unknowing)
Here now (they thought it would last)

Nobody knew
Where they were going
Except for the few who
Had made it all clear

Nobody knew
Who's running the white house
It's painted all black now
No-one's inside

There's a hole in the blue sky
Blind sight, the earth spins
Find time for me, yeah
Time to think, and time to pray

What destination
I play the game
Lord take me now

Here we are
Ages around us (it's not the same)
Emotions unknowing
They thought it would last (here now)

Nobody knew
They thought they would lead us
Except for the few who
Thought they knew
Guess it's all clear
It's all for the money
Peace with your neighbors
Join in the war

There's a hole in the blue sky
There's a hole in the blue sky

  • I love this song but Brian sounds weird on his not very inspired solo. I don't think it's one of his best work. What do you think ? However I love the band (Tony Franklin is a killer bass player)

  • if you like good music try to find a copy of guitar zeus kelly keeling is singing tony franklin plays a fretless bass carmine on drums of course and a host of guitarists that are next to none!!! pure genius to put this together...

  • i lust looked this up on itunes. Its there. Wow you can tell Brian was listening to the rock out at that time, cause his solo sounds like Alice In Chains...

  • I Think, Tony Franklin Did The Bass Here.

  • if i'm not mistaken Kelly Keeling wrote this

  • Nice bass ¿who played it?

    Thanx fot uploading again

  • wow, i used alot of broken English there, haha

    Brian's the gov'nor

  • It was a good an rellivant, but didn't particularily use Brian that well. "Someone to die for" with Bri and Jimmy Gnecco uses the mans godly power more appropriatley.

Anyone could have duo'd on this and it would more or less unchanged.

  • good song for today, very appro. Thanks Dave.

  • What were the reasons for it being withdrawn ?
