In this tutorial we explain how to convert a contour lines shp into a digital model elevation raster image using the gvSIG extension of sextante. Using this method we can provide new elevation data images for the 3D extension like as shown in the tutorial.

To convert a SRTM into a countour lines, you can follow the instructions of following link: http://www.mail-archive.com/gvsig_internacional@listserv.gva.es/msg03867.html

  • Sorry @Otaciliorayo I deleted your comment by mistake, I paste it here:

"muito bom, mas eu queria saber como extrair uma uma shp em 3D, pois quando eu uso o comando conteur line na imagem SRTM, as curvas ficam em 2D, portanto, nao tem como eu proseguir seu tutorial, nao aparecem a opeção elevation"

The answer is too long and I can't post links here, so I add the url with the answer in the video description.

  • Hi adiframly, is better to do this questions at gvSIG user lists. Java does not have enough memory to do the processing oy your layer. You should increase the amount of memory assigned to Java.Or try with smaller layers. Search the forums to do that.
