@TheCam1189 Actually, he does that to compensate the loudness of his voice. He can only hit the higher notes by singing louder, and if he kept the mic at the same distance all the time, there would be some violent volume changes. In this performance that technique sounds pretty strange, but if you listen to other performances and see other singers (like M Shadows) you'll realise it's a pretty useful way of using the mic :)

I don't like his singing technique of moving the microphone so away from his face as many times as hd does in all his live performances. It makes it so you can't hear his voice over the other instruments. He would do so much better live if he would just stop moving the microphone away from him like that. Ruins live songs.
