@mutagh74 revenge is the most deadly thing ever, buddy. It turns the most moral gentlemen into mad killers. Like Mr. Todd. I think the director wanted you to pity him becuz of his morals, not cheer them on.

@WolfCat525 he did, one of the first scripts (before it was edited), said that sweeney turns around and pulls his shirt open so toby can slit his neck, they changed it, but he only lifted his head up because he knew toby was there to kill him, and considering everything he lived for was gone, he wanted to die too
