Actually, it was 1996... and, once more - it wasn't staged! Maynard wasn't too happy afterwards.

This wasn't a bloody set-up! I was there... the guy went to give Maynard a hug and Maynard got him on the deck. It's the Astoria in London (demolished now) in 1997... at the end of the song he asked the guy his name and said something like, Well you're a fucking star! Something like that anyway... it was 15 years ago now.
