@ForeverTaylorSwift11 I think, to people who have never had EDs, those techniques seem extremely complex instead of as part of everyday life. Cassie's parents are shown to neglect her and are happy to go on believing that she's fine. Besides, we see at the end of the episode that her taxi driver (the only adult she trusts) is easily able to get past her tricks. Basically, I think the point of this episode is that her ana has gotten so bad partly because there's no one looking out for her.
