General Jeff is a community activist in Skid Row and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council (DLANC) and almost everyday patrols the community either in the day, at night or even in the early hours of the morning. General Jeff was recently featured by CNN who gave Jeff Page the title of The Mayor of Skid Row.

General Jeff is also the founder of ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS that takes pride in their efforts to improve the conditions in the Skid Row community and are proud of the progress that we are making here. In fact, we have begun to expand their efforts to address not only a wider range of issues, but also partake in more necessary outreach to increase the awareness of the successful and viable solutions that we have initiated. While noting that there is still a lot of important work that still needs to be done, at this time we reflect on some of our accomplishments over the past year.
Now coming to you from the Los Angeles City Hall is General Jeff making his 2010 State of The Union Address as The Mayor of Skid Row.

  • I will be the first to admit that the cops aren't perfect. But we should not paint them all with the brush you just painted them with. And for you to bash the shelters and programs is so out of pocket. I work at a program and without these programs what on earth would the homeless have? You got one thing down pact though. You sound just like a politician. Pushing hope with no solutions. While the missions have been providing them for decades. I've seen lives changed through them.

  • It's funny how he takes a swipe at the police, when it was the police that cleaned up the area and made it possible for the grass roots programs. I work in Skid Row, and before the cops cleaned it up it was a nightmare. I know several cops that are more responsible for the hope of skid row than you. I think you should thank them. Bashing them is not how you bring us together.

  • Brilliant !!!

  • I AGREE- Education is always the answer...PUSH for "kibbutz" type schools aged (7-16), out of the inner cities...the future is not built on cement, but good soil! Using CLOSED bases would be a great place to educate inner city youth away from the "distractions", trade schools, farming, maybe using Habitat for Humanity as graduation requirement. Just a thought that wouldnt cost an arm and a leg...BUT would be extremely rewarding for OUR future- the children...PROTECT THEM!

  • Good words General Jeff!!!! We support you and Skid Row - The Jonah Project
