I love and support this. I know a lot of coaches would completely disagree with this. Look at the length of this rally with a lot of offensive and defensive tennis. They are starting to understand the importance of time and space and just the fun and enjoyment of the sport. Yes a couple of shots were'nt perfect technique, but the picture is way bigger them just technique. I can go on and on with this.

@tuber123asd Well, no one said that mini tennis came before learning basic techniques or anything like that. in fact, I don't think that would be wise either. After developing a decent foundation of technique like basic strokes and footwork, etc., then I think mini tennis would hone those skills tremendously as well as ball control and point construction among other things.
IN MY ARTICLE I SUGGEST THAT WITH MINI TENNIS IT ALLOWS YOUNGER KIDS TO USE A ONE HANDED BACKHAND AND SLICE, WHEREAS ON A BIG COURT WITH HIGH BOUNCING BALLS TWO HANDS IS FAR EASIER. HOPEFULLY LEARNING THE FUNDAMENTALS WITH MINI TENNIS WHERE STRENGTH IS NOT NEEDED WE CAN HAVE MORE ONE HANDED BACKHAND PLAYERS AND IN THUS MORE PLAYERS WITH VARIETY AND ALL-COURT GAMES. IT'S JUST A THEORY!!!?

To look at this logically, you've got to establish the choronology and order of learning tennis. Unless you determine what is most important to learn first, followed by what's next most important and so on, we're just arguing about moving targets.

@tuber123asd i'll go with controlling the ball, and learning proper technique to help you control the ball to start with and mini tennis is great for that. Its not the only way, but its a great way.
