It has a lot to do with him coming to NO as a free agent and negotiating what would have been the fattest contract ever (then) for a CB, and then signing with the Whiners instead, because he "wanted a ring". Then the hatred just got magnified when he became a CoyPuke. This single play is what one would call "just desserts".
A decade later, do we still hate Deion in NO? Good question...I think we have better things to do these days...WHO DAT!!!

Why do Saints fans hate Deion? I admit i'm not a saints fan but i'm from n.o. and i know a lot of them and have never heard them say that. youre right about them hating the Cowgirls though.

HAHAHA!!! The CowPukes were supposed to go to the Superbowl that season, much less win that game against the 2-12 Saints...overhyped and overrated..LOL!!! There is the beauty of having the Saints win that game (which I think keeps the streak alive since 1994, I believe?) but the intrinsic beauty of the clip is having "Mr. Primetime" (who is especially hated by Saints fans) get his manhood knocked into his watchpocket on the last play of the game...and there was no "mailing it in" that time...LOL

Listen as to how John and Pat think the Saints will keep it out of Deion's hands, but Ditka had a better idea. Deion couldn't run away from it, and he couldn't fair-catch it, there were only six seconds left. It's a classic example of a "take that, Prima Donna" play if there ever was one. That's what makes it special. That whole overrated CowPuke squad was just disgusting, and it caught up with them that day. Do you know how many Y.P.C Emmit averaged against the Saints that day? 14 inches! LOL!
