On August 13, 2009 at approximately 12:45 pm. Carrie & Kim saw 1 (possibly 2) guardsmen getting into a car wearing their Battle Dress Uniforms (BDUs) & black berets at the Shell gas station at the corner of Santa Rosa & Foothill in San Luis Obispo, California. The driver of the car was wearing the same patch which was also seen in our earlier video of military personnel using an unmarked white van on 8-2-09 (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KR-cd3KxkJs).

Also, on the far right at the very beginning of today's video, please note the front end of an unmarked white van. In that van, Carrie saw 2 military personnel in BDUs in the front seat. (Unfortunately, the van's occupants were not caught on video.)

Also of note, earlier, when we were passing Camp San Luis Obispo on Highway 1, we saw a small contingent at least 25 soldiers dressed in what appeared to be dress uniforms & red berets drilling in an open parking lot. Apparently red beret signifies ROTC? (See link below for photo.)

There's no corresponding photo, but here it says that ROTC rifle team members earn the "right" to wear the red beret:

For those who do not believe that the National Guard has been federalized ... um ... they already have ...

ARMY NATIONAL GUARD FEDERAL MISSION STATEMENT:

During peacetime each state National Guard answers to leadership in the 50 states, three territories and the District of Columbia. During national emergencies, however, the President reserves the right to mobilize the National Guard, putting them in federal duty status.

While federalized, the units answer to the Combatant Commander of the theatre in which they are operating and, ultimately, to the President.

Even when not federalized, the Army National Guard has a federal obligation (or mission.) That mission is to maintain properly trained and equipped units, available for prompt mobilization for war, national emergency, or as otherwise needed.

The Army National Guard is a partner with the Active Army and the Army Reserves in fulfilling the country's military needs.

  • if your so interested in the military and the ppl get off your fat ass and join otherwise leave me and my fellow soldiers the hell alone! we do enough for this country and go through more shit than you'll ever know! what you are doing is called terrorist observation which is illegal FYI !

  • @subseven08

Interesting, all the hostility from folks who took an oath to defend & protect. We are not anti-military, nor anti the average soldier. We are anti what's being DONE with OUR military & TO the soldiers. You like being shot up with untested/unproven/deadly vaccines? You like experiencing the consequences of using DU? You like being sent around the world on unConstitutional U.N. police actions? You like being forced to violate your oath in 100s of ways?

  • you guys are morons. unmarked white vans are seen in every military branch. they're base vehicles used for base errands. maybe all military branches should take after the marines and not allow BDUs to be worn in public establishments. if you're so paranoid about the US government, move to China. Live here and take your prozac or take your bullshit elsewhere. Lemmings....all of you.

  • The U.S. government is fighting an undeclared war in blatant violation of our Constitution.

Our soldiers, as well as innocent people, have died because of this.

I suppose you would like to explain the illegality of the war to the families?

No Oath Keeper should participate in an undeclared war.

  • you dumb fucks, leave the soldiers alone and let them just do wat they do. They are out there risking their lives for us here in the U.S. You might now agree with the war, hell i don't either, but you still have to support our SOLDIERS!!

Thanks for your commitment to this country to all Solders regardless of what military branch you may be.

  • Our soldiers are risking their lives & the lives of others in an undeclared war, which is blatantly unConstitutional & blatantly in violation of the Oaths they have taken to protect & defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign & domestic.

You would defend the breaking of Oaths?

I support our soldiers' rights to defend & protect our Constitution. I support our soldiers' rights to keep their Oaths.

    Too bad you don't.

  • @Squee06 It amazes me that those with no military experience automatically assume the military is bad. They fail to recognize that having the "right" to be an idiot was given to them by those same men and women have have died wearing the uniform whom they see as suspicious.

  • @Squee06 Article 1, Section 8: "The Congress shall have the Power To declare war" Last time Congress declared war was June 5, 1942, so every war after is unConstitutional. "To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years" When was the last time you heard that? We've been at peace for over 60 years, so why the ginormous standing army? Amendment III. Read the history on this one. It has to do with standing armies.

  • no cant say i am are you familar with my shotgun cause thats the only way to get rid of freaks like you get out of your moms basement and get a job quit trying to scare people

  • welcome to AMERICAif you don't stand behind our military please by all means stand in FRONT of them you coward fucks. if i seen you fuckers i would put a hole in your forehead and get away with it. RET. U.S.A

  • Our country is at peace. Our Congress has not declared war against anyone. Training to kill people in an undeclared war is about as unConstitutional as you can get. Have you considered this? Are you familiar with Oath Keepers?

  • Hunter-Ligget is a Mobilization site for Reserve and Guard troops heading overseas. I have soldiers there now getting ready to go with another unit in my BN.

It also has Reserve reclassification job training schools, which are in full-swing this time of year.
