anyone can choose if they want to believe in the concept of a deity or not but it has nothing to do with psychiatrical issues.
Sending people to war to kill each other pointlessly and polluting the planet and killing vast numbers of animals for needless purposes has , as most of us already agree by now because we know it.

But you're interpreting against the apocryptic narrator's statement in the end of the movie. Not only for Simon's saving the baby's life that it was enough but also for the author's showing us how the undeliverd letter is flying to the recipient, how the girl is healing and the more important how the wineglass is filling up in return of the innkeeper definition of the divine supreme which complies. In this movie the divine supreme complies a gentile sight and the innkeeper is a gentile indeed.

Like you said in the infos, believeing in Satan is for psychiatric however, in the end, the movie reveals he isn't. Why did you lie?
