yes I can hear she's singing a bit off key here and there, it was her peculiarity 'cause she has never been trained to be a real singer, so she couldn't control her voice really well, she just did it by instinct. But she had the most beautiful tone colour, hadn't she?!....so feminine and full of expressivity.....great!

Great video...Listen carefully and you see what George Gershwin said about her singing...She sings a little off key. Not to worry, Ira put it into the lyrics of one of the greatest love songs of all time...which Fred sings to Ginger in the dock of the ferry terminal in "Shall We Dance"..."They Can't Take that Away from Me". The line is "the way you sing off key"....."No, no they can't take that away from me."

Thanks!! I started working on this, then I checked YT and saw Josh's Ginger video. After that I watched your video, and I love the song!
I'm assuming the recording is from 1938, and she does sound mature in it. I like her version of this song, but Ginger's cheek to cheek recording is my favorite!!!
