My hair has been natural for 10 years so I have no reason to support Korean businesses. Hopefully the millions of sisters that support them will wake up and stop making them rich. They don't spend one cent in our community.

THe real question is how black people let this happen
-
@jfl232 it will solve the problem
-
@riceeggsandspam Its not the fact that the women need Asian hair, its the fact that the business side of thisngs is skewed towards the Asians so that they comandeer distribution, outlets and shops and they deliberately attempt to freeze out black owned businesses selling the same stuff. We all know the Asians have a good work ethic and work hard for their families but if they added to that integrity, fair play and allowing both to work together, then their would not be this resentment.
-
If you're going to put Asian hair on your head, you're going to have to send money out of the black community and into the Asian community. You COULD, however, go natural and wear your own hair. If black people start wearing black hair, we may just be able to keep our money in the black community.

I couldn't give a shit about some black people losing money in the black beauty industry!!! Madam cj walker, bonner brothers, damn no-lye relaxers, and all that other shit that made us go bald and burned our ears and scalps... Made by black people!!!! Hell no, i'm not giving them another damn dime of my money or access to my head of hair!!!
-
OMG that 9 billion dollar industry is supposed to be YOURS black people!!
-
boycotting and recommending that each ethnic community only do business with each other will not solve the problem in my opinion. It is similar to the scenario that "A typical gangsta rap listener is a 14-year-old white boy from the suburbs," and "According to a SoundScan study, 71 percent of rap music is purchased by white consumers..."

@The1YouWishUKnew Excuse me? You don't feel you need to work with the asians? That's fucking hilarious. Alright, fine. Let's look at what happens when we take away asians from your 'hair businesses'. THERE ISN'T ONE ANYMORE. More than half the fucking hair comes from china, you uneducated dumbass. You guys want to work solo? So where are you going to get the hair to make weaves? Definitely not from your own kind, right? I don't think anybody will like smell, damaged wigs.
-
Funny thing is, most of the weave and wigs are made in Asian countries.
If I boycott was done...don't think it would make a huge difference because people still have to get their hair done.
i dont feel we need to work with the asians. we as a ppl are always concern about everyone else. we need to be concern about ourselves. they worry about there own, we nd to do the same. and if he really belives that the asians are going to share some resources if you boycott, then he nd to take a step back. one thing that i learn from being in a college with mostly asians, they dont share

i agree...we need to concentrate on SELF and promote/buy our own products. with all the wealthy, black (female) entertainers have that wear/use an abundance of beauty products, it is a shame they have not ALREADY created a financial consortium to promote black manufacturers and retailers.
