How To Change Tumblr Page Background

INSTRUCTIONS:

Go to the "customize" page of your Tumblr profile.

Click on the "Theme" tab.

On your keyboard, hold Ctrl then press F.

Type "background" on the text bar.

Look for the first "background" word on the theme part.

Go to photobucket (or other image hosting sites).

Look for your desired background picture.

Copy the picture's DIRECT LINK then go back to your Tumblr.

Paste the link on the parenthesis after "url". - url (direct link)

If the pic is not big enough, there will be a color background. You can change this by copying html color codes (i.e. black is #000000 and white is #FFFFFF) after the first "background" word. - background: #000000 url (direct link) for black background... - background: #FFFFFF url (direct link) for white background.

But if you want your background pic to cover your whole Tumblr page (by repeatitions), make sure you have the word "repeat" after the direct link part. (as shown in 00:46)

Click Update Preview.

Then finish it up by clicking "Save".

Hi, I still can't seem to get this right. I'm using 'Still Here' by IAM7TH

Any one know how to do it with this theme?

@NLDBroadcast Apparently, Still Here by IAM7TH also allows changing the background picture by simply uploading one (without the hassles of HTML/CSS editing stuff). On your customize page, click 'Appearance' and then you should see "Landscape Image: Upload Clear". Take a look -----> hxtxtxp :x/x/ bxixt .xlxy /xhxpxUxwxOxR <-- (remove all x's and spaces in the link)

@itsmyworldupsidedown Reading everyone else's comments (similar to this), I learned not all Tumblr themes are coded in the same way... Like in my current theme, it has this "Change Background" button in its customize page so I won't slash my eyes working on the HTML thing. So it is still basic HTML knowledge in looking for the correct codes to revise. @recon345 Try re-reading the 'description' area or watch the video in full screen - that way you can see the words in the video more clearly. If you can't find the URL thing after the word 'background' you saw, probably that's not the correct 'background' word. The word 'background' appears a lot of times in the HTML code of the theme so it's best that you arrive at the correct one.

For those that can't find the theme tab, you can click on customize and them Edit HTML. Scroll down to find the part where it says Background Image and put the direct link to the picture between the parenthesis.

For "brain itches," the background image stuff is like hidden. I somehow managed to find a way months ago but forgot. PLEASE help me out, guys? There's no "background," "image," "bg," or "img" anywhere easily accessible for Brain Itches.
