Yeah that wasn't fair to Tom Cable.Too bad they couldn't get Jeff Fisher.I wonder which team keeps praising rebuilding more the Raiders or The New York Islanders?It never ends.It's kind of sad to me because the Raiders are a historic franchise that deserves more.My question is how the hell does Norv Turner keep getting head coaching jobs?My buddy who is a die hard Raiders fans wishes they would bring back Jon Gruden.

I think people give too much credit to Tom Cable for the 8-8 season. Oakland already had good players, Pre-Cable and brought in other key players to blend among key players. Enter Hue Jackson, (mr offence) brought together the offence, helped our run game climb up a few steps, plus worked with J Camp for the pass game
Seymour, Rolondo, and Nnamdi are the reason for bringing the defense together.
I dont see Cable as a key figure because players want to win for themselves, not for the head coach

Oh yeah BTW Tom Cable didn't have JMac as his QB he had JaLardass Bustell as his QB.

I don't get this either, Tom Cable was a great coach who had the Raiders going in the right direction. Plus personally I think his attitude was perfect for Raiders fans.

cable built a team that could make the wildcard next season... but now he´s gone... al davis should´ve left. give the raiders a good qb and they´ll be a playoff team for years, cause they got some young and great talents.

Technically he wasn't fired they didn't retain him. I felt this was possible the min Jackson was to Oakland Cable was on borrowed time. Cable may have been a "players coach" but then again so were a lot that actually got fired this past season.
