We continue with the last of the curbing and wrap up the electrical wiring so it comes out in the right place near the tongue of the trailer. Visit my website at http://www.cannedhamtrailers.com

  • Hi Mobiltec. We are at the electrical portion of our restoration and I ran into a little problem with the tail lights, they aren't working. I have two reds and one white coming out of the trailer. One red is for rt turn/brake and the other red is for lf turn/brake. White I'm assuming is the running lights. However, there is no ground in the system. The only gnd is coming from the car, and then attached to the frame. Any idea why the running lights would not work? Thanks so much!

  • @qntmstate In my experience, the problem is usually with the ground. Make sure there is a good ground wire going from the frame of the vehicle to the WHITE wire of the plug on the vehicle. Then make sure the white wire of the trailer plug is hooked to a good ground on the frame of the trailer. Next check the light housings themselves to make sure they are connected good to the skin of the trailer.

  • @mobiltec Also make sure you have a wire going from the frame of the tongue to a screw into the skin of the trailer. That will be your main grounding connection.

  • I think you should use a seven prong wire, so you can hook up the breaks and charge your battery when you drive.

  • @chlyman That can be done anytime as the wiring is all outside the body of the trailer. I may do it later just as a how to video.

  • As much as everyone hates corded tools, I seem to love plug in and go nature of corded.

  • @startreking2007 I have both and if Im not climbing around inside an attic or up on a roof I prefer the use of a corded tool for prolonged periods of work. Like what is coming up in the next part where I use a spinning wire brush and a drill motor. That is just too long to use expensive batteries.

  • @AngryNotSoOldHippy Too much to do to this trailer before it gets hot...

  • Ha! Looks like work. There are over 140 trees that need to be cut up and removed from trails. You should come up this Saturday and lend a hand cutting up trees.

  • who's on first................? yellow is where?
