Rev. E.V. Hill (deceased) was pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles for 42 years. Honored by Time magazine as one of the "seven most outstanding preachers in the United States," Hill served as leader of the National Baptist Convention and on the board of the Billy Graham Association. He was also an influential leader in the civil rights movement. Hill passed away in 2003 at age 69. His first wife, Jane, died of cancer in 1987. Hill is survived by his second wife, La Dean, and several children and grandchildren.

  • Back in about 1998 Pastor was in Richmond,Va i saw him walking through the omin hotel he ministered to me for about a good six minutes,God knew what i needed at that timebecause i was a mess and God used Pastor E.V. Hill to speak some things into me that has come to past thank you pastor. love you always until we meet again
