@racer52online Sorr-y kids keep logging into YT on my computer.!!! \\ AS you said about Piezo/Piezo or Piezo/Switch, or just Piezo-- my Yamaha brain MUST be off. I wired it BOTH ways Rolands and the anti-Rolands. and that second RIM trigger will not trigger.tested piezo and it's good ..so now what? except to Inspect my (yamaha's) Brain! and maybe just Get a TD3- or 4 or 20,(like your$) lol. maybe we should move this chatter over to the forum for the guys.! great vid! thxs Racer- xFullMetalx

I could pm you . but others could benifit from this question/answer-..→ IF I'm using a small female 1/4 orange radio shack stereo jack (as you did in the early daze-) how can you tell, for sure, which metal connector is ♦Sleeve \ ♠Tip and ♣Ring.? And does it matter what drum module Im using. ? (Yamaha,.. for now) thxs

@BigBearVids If it is like the ones I used, you can actually see which terminal is connected to TRS. As mounted on a panel, generally, theTip solder tab will be on the layer closest to the mounting threads. the Sleeve solder tab will be the one closest to the center hole it will be the layer furthest from the mounting threads. The Ring is in the middle layer. I use an ohm meter and a TRS cable, plug the cable into the jack and ohm out the free end of the cable back to the solder tabs.

@racer52online Great info ! thanks again. I will see whay my Yammy can handle and Try the TRS Roland hookup, vs the Alesis TRS that you and Quartz mention, swapping out brass for ceramic on the tip and sleeve. Looks like both setups have Red → Ring on ceramic part..like the way my piezos are already setup.
→Red on inner ceramic.!

@BigBearVids - Just saw your vdrums post on this issue. SIde note:... The Roland version of the piezo wiring is pretty much for Roland modules, especially when trying to get positional sensing to work properly on thier modules that support positional sensing. In your case, I would go with the version that has BOTH BRASS leads to the SLEEVE, and one each othe the CERAMIC leads to HEAD and RING -Head to Tip & RIm to Ring (the Roland version simply swaps the Head leads at the jack)

@BigBearVids Yes, module type matters. Some do not use TRS connectors for any and/or all inputs - some use only TS (Tip Sleeve ie mono). Also the type of trigger can vary for Head/Rim might be Piezo/Piezo or Piezo/Switch, or just Piezo. I recommend researching your module and its specs to better understand what it is looking for on the inputs. that said, a dual piezo TRS trigger pad works in many applications. check out the forums that suport DIY - like vdrums dot com

nice-- ! I imagine you could also use this method while using the bracket build as well...just drop this double plate onto the crossmember, and adjust away? or use your elevator bolt.! either way.. excellent work.!
