  • @joeshmoe12301230 stop by. He comes in at 0600 and is gone at 1500.

  • @chellej911 wow, time flies. im glad they got some more help there. Adam is a great dude. I need to swing by and say hi.

  • @joeshmoe12301230 Adam is the supervising mech. We have two additional mechs hired about four years ago. We're lucky to them, especially Adam.

  • @chellej911 Has the SO hired another mechanic yet, or is Adam still the heart and sole of all those ships? If not, they should sell some choppers just to make his life a little easier. That guy works his butt off.....

  • @joeshmoe12301230 I agree, the SO should have had one years ago and Youtube isn't the place to resolve differences.

  • @chellej911 oh, and FYI. when i write things like "YEARS!", im not yelling. im just trying to emphasis that it had been many years, like 15 or more, before Air 5 was purchased.

  • @chellej911 SO should have tried to get one of FDs ships years ago. there were 3-4 hueys (205s) and 1-2 cobras sitting in delano for YEARS! 408 was finished being refurbed and upgraded in Aug 2000.

Hell, FD traded one of the helicopters to Santa Barbara (i think) for parts. Masts, tannys, gearboxes or something.

SO should have had a hoist helicopter built before FD could get around to it. 408 was done, so they just kept taking it to another level. so now SO needed one too? just my Q.

  • @chellej911 agreed. it's not like anything important will ever be solved in the comments section of youtube......hahaha

  • @joeshmoe12301230 as I said before, I won't debate who should or shouldn't. If you're a member of the KCFD and a fan of fire's air ops, I couldn't convince you the SO should be the sole hoist helicopter. If you were a member of the SO, and a fan of their air unit, you couldn't be convinced fire should be the sole source. We have to agree to disagree, do our jobs and not demean the other dept. Apparently, some members of fire doesn't feel the same and that's sad.

  • @joeshmoe12301230 we were on the govt. list to receive a Huey years ago, before fire received 408. I can't say for certain, but apparently the list was purged periodically and no one from the SO followed-up or made sure we remained on the list. 9/11 came along and the military retained and refurbished those helos destined for the govt. excess system. So, in retrospect, someone at the SO dropped the ball. Youngblood became sheriff, requested the funds and it was granted by the BOS.
