no regrets; one year ♥

it's been one year since I started riding the beautiful ginger :) By the way this means one year since I started riding him - not since I bought him. I bought him about 8 months ago.

I'm so happy with him.. he has been so willing to learn and taken everything in his stride; it feels weird to say I've 'retrained' him but I guess I have lol, he has definitely taught me LOTS over the past year and increased my confidence loads, and me and casper have come on a lot I think since I got chase because of this :D

He is such a lovely boy and despite his head butting, head shaking and general gingerness (LOL) I would never change him for the world! His flatwork has come on loads in the past few months with the help of an amazing instructor, and so has his XC - we've now jumped some of the open fences which are 3'3 which I have to say I neverrr thought we would do.. I'm so proud of him ♥


So yeah.. this is some of Chase's best (and worst) moments.. and at the end I've done a 'before and after' sort of thing, showing his improvement in condition and general happiness :)

For those who don't know:
Chase is a 16hh (just about) TB. He's an ex racehorse who did ok in some races and got a couple of 2nds but never really showed any true potential for racing and raced until he was about 5/6. His whereabouts after that aren't clear but he didn't do anything for years and was just in a field doing nothing. My good friend Sally bought him from the field in 2010 despite him not being what she was really looking for, I started riding him for her and then it went on from there! :)

I actually cannot believe the change in this horse. he looked so unsure and unconfident to begin with and now he looks like he'd go to the ends of the earth, and further for you! You need to come school Louie - your are such a class rider on the flat! and over fences! im just blown away by the improvement, so fantastic :) x
