Ok, firstly, don't watch this video if you don't like the song! Haters, back off ;) Several people requested this song....I had been studiously ignoring it, but randomly decided to record it today. There are no sheets, done by ear. Luckily, since there are only 4 chords in this song, you really don't need sheets..the chords are: B, G#minor, E, F#. If you want to get adventurous, you can add a minor 7 to the G# minor, and a 2nd to the E chord :)

This is certainly a song that everyone loves to hate, I think because people like to feel a sense of united smugness about the perceived lack of artistic merits of certain songs/artists. In fact, there are many well-loved pop songs which only use 4 chords over and over. I do not mind this song; while it is not a fountain of artistic creativity, it is catchy and happy. I think the way Rebecca seems to have handled all the hateful comments is admirable.

I DID NOT WRITE THIS SONG, IT IS NOT MINE! Written by Ark Music Factory and performed by Rebecca Black.

  • Friday is actually musically a really good song. No serious, hear me out. The lyrics are shocking, and the original release by that girl was awful with the autotune. But watch some talented people take it and play with it, and it's usually good because a) has nice harmony/chord structure, b) catchy melody and c) big hook with the chorus. It's actually a good tune, if you composed this your music teacher would give you an A, no question.

  • How old is she? 17-18?

  • if this version came out first, i would be exited to hear lyrics. but instead, the other came out first and i wasn't going to listen to this. Happy i did. as it turns out, if you ignore the lyrics you know from the original. this actually sounds very good!

  • I read the title and though "What? No! I thought so much better of you! You're too good for this!"

Then I listened to it. They should have released this instead of the original.
