    Mr Edgar was indeed an American. When I say rip off, I mean Roger Corman's style is very "Hammer". I think it's because that film studio has since become synonymous with a whole horror subgenre. Apparently in advertising, they call this "genericization".

    Like how Hoover refers to all vacuum cleaners.
