It doesn't even matter who was there first. This sounds really childish, btw. It doesn't BELONG to anyone, it's just land.

What people should deal with now is the problem in hand. Stop this "all or nothing" behavior and learn to live together peacefully. That may sound unfair for some on both sides, but the only way to stop this ancient conflict is by accepting the situation as it is now. Too bad a reasonable deal wouldn't be nice to everyone, but an infinite war sure isn't that nice either.
