Panama City, Panama, 1943

During WWII, my father's minesweeper stopped off at Panama City, Panama. We see a cathedral, La Iglesia de la Merced,the ruins are "Old Panama" (Las Ruinas de Panama La Vieja), Navy seamen.

d verdad es difícil hoy en día encontrar tan valiosos recuerdos de mi patria cuando todavía tenía muchos lugares naturales sin alteraciones de arquitectura. Veo q las ruinas es uno de los lugares q más visitan los extranjeros. Gracias por rescatar tan valioso video y presentarlo sobre todo a nosotros los panameños y al mundo entero!!

I asked a Panamanian friend to look at the video and she said the church is called "La Iglesia de la Merced".

Thanks for uploading this video. I think the statue which is seen at about 10 seconds is of Balboa(First Spaniard to see the Pacific Ocean) located on Balboa Avenue. It looks like a group of sailor are seated at the base of the statue.. I wonder if one of the buildings was the U.S. Embassy....Good video....
