  • He looks like Jack Black

  • Matt Holness must really like British folk. He gets it SO well.

  • is that a martin 000-28 ?

  • Oh man where are the chords/tabs for this song?

  • Having shared many a flagon of mead with Merriman at festivals past, I am familar with his drunken repetoire. It is quite clear to me that he is singing:

"Stay beside the railway, heaven while we play.

Days are gone, my dear. They are gone, my dear - but we had a good old day."

2nd verse substitutes railway for "river now"

But make of his lyrics what you will, I judge not.

  • im sure one of the lyrics is

oh we had a good ol' day

  • @Rojoco88

yeah, kinda reminds me of nick drake and fionn regan as well... brilliant parody

you can tell how easily one could make up lyrics just from garbling

  • i love his sense of humour, it's as dry as a badger's arse.

  • this would actually be brilliant if he bothered to write lyrics.

it's criminal that he's so multitalented

  • wat a legend!

listen 2 'may you never' by John Martyn, and u can c wher holness has his inspiration lol
